In my freshman year of college, I fell into a pattern common to many young, overwhelmed book lovers. Life got busy, and I stopped reading for pleasure. Everything I read, even if I enjoyed it, lost a bit of luster by virtue of being read for a class. There were deadlines, essays, presentations. I didn’t have time to enjoy things.
Sound familiar?
Luckily, over the past couple of years I’ve gotten back into my groove, picking out books that I genuinely like and that challenge me mentally and spiritually– and actually reading them. For my own sake, not anyone else’s.
Now what I’m looking for is a place to talk about them. My blog posts are where I’ll be spinning out reviews. They’ll give a sense of why I chose the book, the perspective from which I’m reading it, what I thought of it, and who else I think might enjoy it.
I’m hoping to meet other people who have read the same books so we can discuss them, but also to inspire and give suggestions to anyone out there who’s interested in my thoughts.
Now let’s book it!!
